Help & Q&A

Common questions and detailed answers.

General Questions

Does Cloud Contacts store my data?

No. Your contacts are synced directly between your device and your provider (Google, iCloud, etc.). We do not have any servers that store or process your personal contact information. Your privacy is our top priority.

Is the app free?

Cloud Contacts offers a generous free version with essential syncing features. Advanced tools like the Birthday Calendar, unlimited accounts, and premium support are available via a small one-time purchase or subscription.

Sync & Providers

Which providers are supported?

We support Google Contacts, iCloud, Fastmail, GMX, AOL, Yahoo, and any custom CardDAV server (like Nextcloud, Synology, or ownCloud). If your provider supports the CardDAV standard, we likely support it!

How do I sync Android contacts to iPhone?

It's easy! On your iPhone, download Cloud Contacts and choose "Add Account". Select "Google" and log in with the Google account used on your Android device. The app will sync your Android contacts directly to your iPhone. You can then choose to copy them to your local iPhone address book or keep them synced in the cloud.

What is Guest Mode?

Guest Mode allows you to use the app's powerful cleaning and organizational tools on your local device contacts without logging into a cloud provider. Just tap "Skip" on the login screen to enter Guest Mode.

Features

Can I merge duplicate contacts?

Yes! Our built-in "Duplicate Cleaner" scans your accounts for matching names, emails, and phone numbers. It presents a list of potential duplicates for you to review and merge into a single, clean contact entry.

How do I use Siri Shortcuts?

With iOS 26+, Cloud Contacts integrates with Siri via App Intents. You can simply say things like "Hey Siri, create a contact in Cloud Contacts" or "Hey Siri, search Cloud Contacts for John". You can also build custom workflows using the Apple Shortcuts app to automate cleanups or backups.

Troubleshooting

My contacts aren't syncing. What should I do?

First, ensure you have an active internet connection. Then, try pulling down on the contact list to trigger a manual refresh. If that doesn't work, check if your provider password has changed. You may need to re-authenticate your account in the app settings.

I forgot my app-specific password.

For security, many providers (like Apple iCloud) require an app-specific password instead of your main account password. If you forget it, you will need to generate a new one from your provider's security settings website and update it in Cloud Contacts.
